The Tyneside residential service, located in the seaside town of South Shields, is 21 years old this year and continues to provide a safe and supportive background where people from all backgrounds can address their drug and alcohol dependencies, whilst receiving support from their peers and members of staff.

The Victorian building was originally built for a shipping merchant and his family and has since been sympathetically developed to increase residential accommodation and facilities for service users and staff. The service boasts large lawned areas and a volley ball court and offsite activities include theatre trips, cinema, football, saunas, gym, bowling and exercise classes as well as trips to the local beach.

The Tyneside service operates a Therapeutic Community structured programme with one to one counselling, therapeutic groups, complementary therapies and key work.

Tyneside runs conservation therapy and skills and education training programmes

After completing treatment within our residential rehabs, service users have the option of being moved to one of Phoenix Future's re-entry programmes.
