The Scottish Residential Service is a rehabilitation service for people with drug and alcohol problems. Established in 1994 the service caters for people with dependency problems from all over Scotland, providing a flexible abstinence-based residential rehabilitation and detoxification programme. Situated on the outskirts of the city centre, it offers easy reach of the city's facilities. A purpose build centre, the house accommodates up to 39 men and women aged 18+ who wish to take control of their drug or alcohol problem.

What does the Phoenix Futures Scottish Residential Service aim to achieve?

The service provides a safe, supportive and structured environment where residents participate in groups and one-to-one sessions to explore the underlying reasons for their dependency. Through a process of self-awareness and understanding patterns of personal behaviour, residents are encouraged to acquire new skills and formulate strategies that will enable them to develop a healthy, drug free lifestyle and return to independent living in the community.

What kind of help and services can I expect?

Participation in the Phoenix Futures Therapeutic Community programme helps to promote change by encouraging self-worth and personal responsibility, challenging individual attitudes and behaviour, and encouraging the development of life and social skills.

The service offers a comprehensive therapeutic programme delivered by fully trained and professional staff. This is provided within a residential setting, ensuring access to a range of health and social care support services to suit individual needs.

How is the rehabilitation programme structured?

Find out more about our Programme by clicking here. It is run across all of our Residential services.

How long is the rehabilitation programme?

Our programme is based on a six month placement and is tailored to individual needs. Shorter or longer lengths of stay can be considered dependent on needs of the service user.

Are there any rules?

To maintain a safe and positive environment the service has rules. Residents are expected to fully participate in the programme and to adhere to all the house rules during their stay. Rules and expectations are outlined in the licence agreement, signed by all residents on admission.
