Celebrating our 40th Birthday

Last year we were proud to celebrate our 40th birthday and to reflect on the contribution that Phoenix Futures has made to helping individuals and communities recover from problems associated with drug and alcohol use.

Forty years ago Phoenix Futures was founded upon the belief that every person with a substance misuse problem should have the opportunity to change their life. Helping people to end their dependence on drugs and alcohol by offering them the chance to rebuild their lives, Phoenix Futures has given thousands of people the ability to earn their rightful place in society. To achieve this goal we have developed a spectrum of services that put the service user at their core and that are consistent in meeting individual need whilst retaining a perspective on the needs of the community as a whole.

Whilst Phoenix Futures has grown and adapted and has been influenced by society and its changing needs we have retained the distinctive and unique feature of our treatment services with their capacity not only to address substance misuse issues but also to create in individuals the drive and determination to fulfil their true potential. The dynamic and challenging therapeutic philosophy that underpins all our services engenders in people a sense of purpose which they carry forward into their future lives.

At Phoenix Futures we know that recovery is possible; we have been witnessing it every day for the last forty years. Throughout our history Phoenix Futures has continued to bring about positive change in the lives of countless individuals, families and communities affected by substance misuse. Our continuing aim is to help individuals gain a sense of their own self worth and attain independence, acceptance and integration into their communities and to ultimately fulfil a positive role in society.
