Who is the service for?

The service is for men and women aged 18+, who live in Trafford and are looking to address a drug problem.

How we run the service?

There are three stages to the Structured Day Programme – Induction, Pre-core and Core. The service model is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which runs throughout the keywork sessions and group work.

How does the programme work?

The Induction phase
This phase consists of one keywork session a week, two peer support sessions a week, plus access to complimentary therapies (auricular acupuncture, Reiki and Acu-stim) for four weeks. This phase may be suitable for individuals who have a chaotic lifestyle, or who are not ready or able to commit to a full programme.

The Pre-core phase
This pahase is 6 to 12 weeks in duration and consists of one keywork session, two peer support sessions, one group session (this may cover topics such as harm minimisation, offending behaviour, improving self esteem etc.), complimentary therapies and conservation therapy (in partnership with The National Trust). This phase may be suitable for someone who is currently using a substance (or substances) and have shown motivation by evidencing a reduction in drug use.

The Core phase
This phase is 12 weeks in duration and consists of one keywork session a week, two peer support sessions a week, two group sessions a week (one based on relapse prevention, one based on life skills), conservation therapy, gym, complimentary therapies and other activities such as wall climbing, badminton, table tennis and football. Service users in the Core phase can access IT courses that are delivered from our IT suite situated in the Aftercare and Resettlement Service.
The Core phase is a stable group for individuals who are abstinent or who use only occasionally. On completion of the Core phase, service users can then move to Trafford Aftercare and Resettlement Service with a view to gaining employment, voluntary work or starting college/training.

We also deliver a Stimulant course in partnership with the local CJIT team.

Intuitive Recovery is an innovative addiction intervention course, where service users can gain tools to aid them in achieving reduction or abstinence. Once completed they receive a recognised qualification through the National Open College Network.

Are there any rules?

In order to protect our service users and staff, we do not tolerate any form of violence or harassment, and evidence of this may result in expulsion from the service. Consumption of alcohol or drugs on the premises, inclusive of any activities that we offer, is not permitted.

What are the opening hours?

The service is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm.

How do I access the service?

We accept referrals from anyone who is working with someone who may benefit from the service, and we also accept self referrals. If you would like to refer yourself or someone else, please ring us on 0161 873 7072.
