Shocking facts about the misuse of drugs and alcohol and the affect on businesses

Alcohol misuse costs British industry around £3 billion a year through accidents, reduced productivity and absenteeism and drug related problems are looming as a comparable workplace headache. It has been said that drug misuse is now estimated to cost industry around £800 million a year and the figure is rising.

The above equates to the following facts:

• 75% of people now being treated for alcohol problems are in employment, and
• 25% of people seeking help for drug problems are in employment

Support our Services

Phoenix Futures has services and projects across England and Scotland. We can link your support to a regional service in the area of your operation or interest.

We will provide regular updates and reports usually including photographs, and case histories of some of the people that you are helping. This can really help your company, including employees and clients, to understand the impact and difference that we are making to peoples' lives and the community

Company Donations

We rely on charitable donations from the private sector to help us to develop new and expand existing programmes that add value to the therapeutic rehabilitation programme delivered at all our services. Good examples are the education and skills training and conservation therapy programmes that operate from some of our residential services.

Ideally we would like to offer the programmes at all our services and your support can help us to achieve this. All donations supporting our self-development programmes are vital as the programmes add real value to our core aim of transforming our clients' lives.

Employee Volunteering

Phoenix Futures values the input provided by volunteers and welcomes the opportunity to use this valuable resource. Across our services there are opportunities for volunteers to deliver knowledge on a particular skill or alternative therapy, such as yoga, or to mentor our clients in literacy, numeracy and IT.

Gifts in Kind

In some cases your company may be able to make a gift other than money. Phoenix Futures welcomes this form of giving. However, we may not be able to use all gifts so please check with us if you are unsure.

Gifts we would welcome include:

• Certain types of office equipment
• Company shares: share giving is a tax efficient way to give money to charity
