Lanarkshire: Communities of Recovery

Lanarkshire: Communities of Recovery

From our office base in Coatbridge, we recruit, train and support groups of volunteer Peer Supporters to work with other people in recovery across Lanarkshire.

The people that we support may still be accessing treatment, or may just be about to leave treatment. Our Peer Supporters work with these individuals to help them to integrate them back into the local community by supporting them to access training, education, mutual aid support groups and social activities.

All our Peer Support volunteers have a named supporter (a member of Phoenix staff) who is responsible for ensuring that they get everything they need to fulfil their role.

Volunteers are asked to take part in extensive Induction Training which provides them with all the basic skills to get started.  They are also required to come along to regular development days and to attend additional training to ensure skills are up to date and fresh.

If you are interested in becoming a Peer Supporter please contact our team in Coatbridge on 01236 425338 or 01236 426385 or alternatively download the Volunteer Application Form and Peer Supporters Service Information
