Response to the Drugscope report 'Drug treatment at the crossroads'

"I welcome the report from Drugscope and share their commitment to moving the debate on.

At Phoenix Futures we deliver services in prison and in the community across the spectrum of harm reduction and abstinence. We know that it is vital that those accessing drug treatment have a choice of a range of treatments available to them to meet their needs.

We owe it to our communities and to our children to ensure we create a drug treatment system with a range of good quality evidenced based provision that can be accessed easily regardless of who you are or where you live.

The aim of all drug treatment services should be to work with individuals in a holistic way to bring stability and meaning to the lives of those affected by addiction.

I believe many of the recommendations in this report would take the sector a step nearer to achieving that aim."
