"One of the biggest challenges to ex users face is self-confidence. The course has helped rebuild my confidence. I think it should be part and parcel of any programme which deals with ex users. It's fun, exciting and highly recommended" Phoenix Futures client

Rebuilding lives – with your support

Phoenix Futures helps thousands of adults each year who have made the positive decision to rebuild their lives following long-term, severe drug and alcohol dependency, often causing many years of damage to themselves and their families.

We can't meet this target alone. We really do need your support.

What your donation will help us do:

Any donation however large or small will help us to continue to support our clients as fully as we can by providing two self-development courses as a part of their overall rehabilitation programme. These really add extra value for them as they learn a new set of skills and re-discover their self esteem.

All donations ranging from a few pounds up to hundreds of pounds are equally important to us, for example:

£20 could pay for a waterproof jacket for a conservation therapy programme participant
£50 could pay for a set of tools for a conservation therapy programme participant
£1,000 could support the cost of the outdoor protective clothing for a complete client team whilst working with Natural England on conservation work

Whilst larger grants enable us to continue to deliver our self development programmes and develop new projects across England and Scotland.

Our two self development programmes, skills and employability and conservation therapy are funded entirely by voluntary donations. They are an integral part of our overall rehabilitation programme and help to make our drug and alcohol treatment successful. We are constantly developing new services such as alcohol only projects and continue to run our established, successful programmes; skills and education training and conservation therapy. By being able to access them our service users not only regain their lost self esteem whilst learning skills to help them back into employment to support themselves and their families; but they also make a difference to the wider community and environment.

Why Support Phoenix Futures

Nearly 11 million people in England and Wales, almost 34.9% of people aged between 16 and 59 have used illegal drugs at some point in their lives. A third of these, around 4.5 million, will have used Class A drugs, about 10.5%, or 3.5 million have used drugs in the past year, and 6.3% or 2 million will have used in the last month.

For the majority of people this will be a passing phase and they will not continue to take drugs. However a number of people, the most recent survey from the Home Office estimates that 327,466, will go on to develop serious drug problems and become 'problematic drug users'. It is these people that Phoenix Futures works with and for. Currently we help over 12,000 people each year affected by substance misuse.
