Between 1 and 7 June Phoenix publicly thanked some of our brilliant volunteers. All our volunteers are valued, here are just a few of the thank yous, you can read more on our facebook page.
David Potts - Locality Manager Derbyshire
"I’d like to thank our volunteers Andrew & Scott at our Ilkeston service in Derbyshire, they have contributed to our service in such a beneficial way, they are always positive and cheerful, always bringing innovative ideas and feedback to our team and have done some fantastic work in engaging service users in creating art work in our waiting area, again creating a much more po...sitive environment for those accessing our service, they are both the first to get involved in our many projects from Get Fit for Free, Recovery through Nature, Wash Arts project.
Both Andrew and Scott began as service user reps and have worked hard to become volunteers and develop their skills, whilst also developing ours with their knowledge, Andrew has now been successful in achieving paid employment with one of our partners and I'm sure Scott will not be far behind."
Jodie, the Team Manager of our Trafford Alcohol Service thanked volunteer Petra for her huge contribution.
"She has been volunteering with our service for two years. She works in partnership with our local Hospital Alcohol Liaison Service promoting Phoenix Futures to patients attending at the outpatient clinics. She supports our clients to their appointments if they are feeling anxious and also helps out with admin around the office. Petra is very dedicated to her role of volunteer and is an extremely valuable member of the team Petra always helps out in the office and is really supportive our service users and staff.
We don’t know what we’d do without her!"
Gary, Trafford Service Team Manager
“At Bridgewater House in Trafford I would just like to give a big shout out to our volunteers and Peer Mentors. They help the service so much.
They are seen right at the start of treatment through the welcome session during treatment in groups and outreach and then at graduation right at the end. I don’t think they realise the value their input has on the service here. I’d like to say, apart from the massive help they provide staff, service users look up to them and give them and they give them more motivation to succeed.
The effort Volunteers and Peer Mentors put in on a daily basis makes a real difference to the service. They take part in groups, outreach, film projects, Recovery through Nature, inputting data, welcoming people to service, art work, swimming, cycling and football……. I could go on, but they are involved in absolutely everything the service delivers so I just want to say a big thank you from us here, you are a big asset and are appreciated for the work you do."
Leanne our Sheffield Adult Residential Manager
"They have always demonstrated a passion for recovery and supporting the residents. They are helpful and eager to take on tasks throughout the day which supports the smooth running of the service. They have so much to give and the residents really appreciate their input.
They have been a great help in the service and I would like to say a big thank you on behalf of Sheffield Adult Service"
