The Together Project is run in Scotland and engages those in recovery from substance misuse with the arts. Dance and drama are at the heart of the project. Participants express themselves through movement and other art forms.
We take recovery to the stage with impressive results. Because it doesn’t feel like therapy, participants respond well to this form of self-exploration.
The Together Project challenges participants to come out of their comfort zone and use new channels of communication to express themselves. In doing this they:
- discover new talents
- challenge and respond to the stigma attached to people with addictions
- break down barriers and raise awareness of the risks of drug and alcohol misuse
Through their involvement with the project, participants gain countless benefits on a personal level. These include:
- increased confidence
- strengthened relationships
- a sense of belonging
- life skills
- a vision for the future
