Phoenix Forests

Phoenix Forests

Phoenix celebrates all those who have successfully completed their recovery with us by planting a tree.

Phoenix have forests in England and Scotland. The forest project started over the last nine years when Phoenix, in partnership with The Woodland Trust, planted over 8,000 trees planted at Heartwood near St Albans. We have now moved to Smithills near Bolton where we have planted the first 500 trees, whilst in Scotland we plant at Glenlude where we started planting in 2013, and we have now planted nearly 1,200 trees.

Each tree planted is a metaphor for the growth and strength of each person’s recovery, along with creating a woodland habitat that will be there for the benefit of all for hundreds of years to come.

Planting days bring together people from services all over the country. Lunch is cooked in the field, warms everyone up and provides all with the opportunity to meet, chat with others and collectively celebrate new life and hope for the future.
