Changing Futures - Launch Event

9th May 2022

In 2021, Phoenix Futures’ Essex Managers and Business Development team worked with their commissioners to submit a bid to the Changing Futures fund – a 3-year, £64 million programme aiming to assist disadvantaged adults - and were one of the 15 areas in the country to be successful.

Last week saw the first learning event hosted by the Changing Futures team. The event was held at Chelmsford Racecourse and was attended by over 100 people working across Essex. This included commissioners, a range of statutory and voluntary sector support services, councillors, Phoenix Futures staff, and a number of people who use our services across Essex.

The day consisted of several presentations to highlight the ambitions of Changing Futures, before proceeding with several insightful workshops that allowed the agencies working in Essex to come together to explore The Client Journey, The Service User Experience, and A Strategic View.

The day was a huge success that allowed attendees to understand the plights and emotions of the people that Phoenix Futures and the rest of the organisations support, as well as providing ample opportunity to reflect on what we currently succeed at, and what else can be done to support people to help move us closer towards systematic change.
