Criminal Justice Support Service, Local Support Service

Futures Together

Location: Essex

Futures Together combines criminal justice and social inclusion, creating a service for people experiencing multiple and additional needs across Essex, excluding Southend and Thurrock.

The Criminal Justice element provides holistic, wraparound, person-centred support to people in contact with the criminal justice system who have various and multiple needs. Examples can include mental health difficulties, problematic substance use, learning difficulties, or any other need that, if left unmet, is likely to increase the risk of reoffending. The support offered includes signposting, onward referrals, liaison with other professionals, advocating on people’s behalf, and accompanying people to services and appointments.

The Social Inclusion element provides a wide range of peer-led, meaningful activities for people to engage in, alongside opportunities to train as a volunteer/peer mentor to support Phoenix Futures services in Essex (no criminal justice involvement is needed for the social inclusion element of the service). This service is for adults aged 18 years and over who reside in Essex, excluding Southend and Thurrock.
