Housing Support Service

Preston Housing

Location: Preston

Preston Housing offers people with a history of substance use who face challenges and need a safe environment complimented with our advice and guidance to enhance their recovery capital. 

We have 4 semi-independent houses in Preston with a total of 17 beds. The sites are staffed during the day and have a 24 hour on call service. Residents are given the opportunity to gain life skills and tenancy management skills and when ready to move on our dedicated staff will help to find suitable move-on accommodation.

The houses all comprise of a single furnished bedroom, shared furnished communal areas i.e. kitchen bathrooms and outside space there is also space to engage in confidential advice and the opportunity to explore support from external partners across a wide variety of issues.

Services Offered/Interventions:

We aim to build strong supportive communities within our houses providing advice and guidance from peers as well as staff.

Guidance and sign posting into relevant support provision:

  • A stable environment, practical advice and signposting
  • Life skills development
  • Advice and guidance around move on accommodation
  • Tenancy support and advice
  • Advice on work training and employment
  • Crisis management
  • Drug and alcohol advice and guidance
  • Culturally specific advice and guidance
  • Guidance with network development
  • General health advice i.e. GP registration
  • Access to treatment services
  • Budgeting advice
  • Welfare/benefit advice

How to refer:

For referral guidance or further advice, please contact the office 01772 726264, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm. Services wanting to refer into the service can be sent an electronic referral form. The referral form should be completed and returned to either the address listed below or via email listed below.

Who we help

People between the ages of 18 upwards with a history of substance use who are now looking to maintain an abstinent way of life and develop their recovery capital in readiness for independent living.
