Criminal Justice Support Service

HMP Norwich

Location: Norwich

Our Recovery Inside prison service, run in HMP Norwich, provides assessment and psychosocial support for men in custody who have drug and alcohol problems. Through one­-to-­ones and group sessions, the Phoenix Futures team provide a therapeutic approach to treatment.

Our interventions include:

  • One-to-ones and group sessions aimed to be responsive to service user’s individual needs
  • Mutual aid groups, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous and SMART recovery
  • Release planning
  • Parole preparation
  • Residential rehab applications
  • Peer mentor scheme
  • Family support – dedicated family worker

How to refer: 

Any prisoner can self-refer to service. We also accept referrals for any offender from a third party. This could include another member of staff within the prison, anyone involved in their care that is based in the community, family members etc. All prisoners are seen as part of their induction.

Community Chaplaincy - https://communitychaplaincy.org.uk/ - A country wide support agency who can provide mentoring after release from prison, support with life management and helping you to re-engage after custody.
