Submissions are now open for The Recovery Street Film Festival, now in its third year the festival will take place during recovery month in September. Anybody who has a ‘recovery’ story to tell is encouraged to enter.

The aim of the festival is to empower people affected by addiction by giving them a voice, and providing a platform for them to tell their own stories. The theme of this year’s film festival is ‘Recovery’, focusing on people who have lived experience of recovering from drug or alcohol addiction, whether it is first hand or through a loved one.

No experience necessary - tons of film making experience is not needed in order to enter, entries are encouraged from all skill levels. The competition is not judged on technical competence but more on the ability to tell a story and how creative it is in getting the message of recovery out there.

The deadline for submissions is 29th July, all shortlisted films will tour the UK during recovery month in September, to find out more about the festival and how to enter visit:
