We know that with the right support and help women can make changes in their lives, recover from their addiction and reduce their offending.

The Therapeutic Communities, transforming the lives of women and breaking the cycle of frequent offending report documents evidence that suggests women entering the criminal justice system can have complex needs and require specialist support with a range of issues.

Many women serving custodial prison sentences do not get the opportunity to address their offending behaviour, this report draws on a range of data to put forward an alternative evidence based approach to supporting women in their recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
