Criminal Justice Support Service

HMP Altcourse

Location: Liverpool

Phoenix Futures is a psychosocial substance misuse service, specifically tailored to each service user within HMP Altcourse, to meet the needs of the individual. At each stage of recovery, service users will have access to a bespoke programme of interventions.

Services Offered:

  • One-to-one and group based support
  • In-cell work
  • Peer Support and mutual aid
  • Recovery Meetings and SMART Recovery
  • Access to Fellowships
  • Family support, with a dedicated Family Support Worker
  • Release planning and through the gate support
  • Naloxone training

How to refer: 

All prisoners entering HMP Altcourse are seen as part of their induction. Any prisoner can self-refer to the service. We also accept referrals from any third party, including members of staff within the prison, from community agencies, and from families and loved ones.

Who we help

Sentenced and remand adult male prisoners as well as young offenders who want to address the problematic use of substances, including alcohol, prescribed medications, and legal or illegal drugs..
