Local Support Service

Essex Alcohol Recovery Community

Location: Essex

We provide support, advice and information around alcohol use for adults living in Essex.

If you are finding that alcohol is causing problems in your life, we can help. Whether you want to reduce the amount you drink, or how often you drink, or abstain completely, we provide a range of support that is designed around your personal needs and aspirations.

We know it’s not easy to address problems with alcohol, but our experienced team will guide you through the support on offer. We use tried and tested methods to help you to work towards your personal goals.

Services Offered/Interventions:

You can benefit from support on a one to one basis and group support, where you can share experiences with other people with similar experiences.  Essex ARC also has access to in house counselling service, where appropriate.

We can also support family, friends and carers affected by a loved one’s drinking and can refer to more specialist family support.

Where we think you may benefit from specialist support, we will link you up with partner organizations in your area who can help. For more information on what we do, please take a look at our website here.

Who we help

We are a fully inclusive service and welcome anyone 18 years old or above living in Essex. Problems with alcohol are very common and alcohol can, and does, affect the lives of people from all walks of life. All of us have difficult times in our lives and at some point, all of us will need some help with dealing with problems. So, remember that, you’re not alone, we are here to help.

Our Partners

If you require specialist support, we work with partner charities and organizations across Essex. Problems with alcohol are often related to difficult life events and factors such as coping with change, stress, bereavement, mental health, money, relationship, caring for a family member to name just a few.
